A Note from Chair Person, Beth Head
Welcome to the latest news from your local Landcare group. As you will notice in the Projects & Funding page, BJFG is in the fortunate position of having some funding available to landholders to support specific environmental works on their properties. The RTK and Powerlink 1 Soil Conservation projects are closed. No new applications will be accepted. Funding is still available for Tree planting, Environmental Weed Control & Pasture Seed. See the Projects and Funding page for updated information. Unfortunately, on the government funding front, the latest Federal budget has seen cuts to the Caring for our Country program. Does Landcare have a future and can it thrive and survive in such a reduced funding environment? Do you support the continuation of Landcare in your area? What is your vision for Landcare? With questions such as this in mind, BJFG are going to organise a Community Planning Day. A date for the Planning Day will be advised. Your presence and input will be welcomed. Please watch for further news of this day.
